oh christmas tree, oh christmas tree.....

Grew up in a Jewish household in an extremely Catholic country.

So it's only natural that I always wanted a Christmas tree, but too bad I couldn't convince my father to let me have one. Perhaps if I could have shown him all these photos back then he would have let me have a non-traditional one like these.

a sack has never looked so good

I've got a slightly fanatical attraction to burlap, but then when I really look into it, I was using this material on my mixed media paintings back in 1997. So it's fair to say that it's been a longstanding fascination with this fabric.

What's not to like? It's natural fibres can be used in anything you can imagine. Furniture, table decor, soft furnishings, shoes (!) Something about the rough fibres, it's worn out look, textures and simply, it's diversity.

Obsessed? Yes. Extremely.

Completion: Palms Pointe

Think it's about time we update this baby.

And I think our goal for next year must be to post more inspiration, post more ideas and perhaps post more finished projects!

Remember this renovation?

Want to see more of the of how we renovated and decorated her space?

Weaving that magic

Have a little peek into a part of our day of shopping.
Have a little snoop into our tapestry haven.

Designer Spotlight: Tine K Home

"It is the contrast between light and dark which creates the style and atmosphere. Often, the dark colors come from old objects, furniture and carpets from the East. I like pieces that have history, that are handmade and different, and that I can't usually find in Denmark."

Rustic.
Textured.
Black and white.
Simply detailed.

What a rush....

What a ride!

Three new projects = no time for blogging.

Here's a tiny peek into one of our refurbishment projects.
We are so looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

(Wishing we took BEFORE photos and not just DURING photos
but hoping to get some + will post them when we can)

Designer spotlight: Axel Vervoordt

Belgian interior designer Axel Vervoordt stands in the centre of  his element.
He speaks his design language so fluently and expresses it beautifully....

I think august deserves a post

I am openly going to admit that we have slightly been neglecting our little online home.

All of a sudden it's the middle of August.

But life got busy, took on a little August project my personal blog, and luckily work for the design company has been flourishing a tiny bit.
But this of course makes us happy, swooning with ideas left, right and centre.

For this sunny Sunday, I leave you with details.

Because they make or break your space.  Because they really do matter when you are doing up your rooms.  Or simply just because they are the elements that really express your style.

those mexican chairs

Rachel regularly travels to Guadalajara, Mexico. On her first trip, her  sharp eye spotted these chairs  tattered, stitched together, barely functional but she obviously sees the beauty of these chairs.....through its age and character.

 Photo from Rachel blog.

And as I research through my files of  thousands of photo inspirations to prepare for a condominium project, I spotted this....

I too obviously saw the beauty of these chairs....great (design) minds think alike.

Under arches

Forgive me for all the bedroom posts but as I'm still in dire need to do up my neglected bedroom, this seems to be all the research I have been up to recently.

Sleep like a princess

For as long as I remember, I've always wanted a canopy bed.

I always thought it would make me feel like a princess and that I'd feel safe because if I wanted to hide I could just close the curtains and no one would see me. Now I just love it.
